On Sunday, May 20th, the boys travelled to Peterborough to battle with the Lakers. The undefeated Lakers were 4-0 going into last night’s game. Neil McInroy scored early for the Beaches notching his first goal of the season, but the Lakers responded with five straight goals to finish the first period 5-1. Like in the first, the second period began with a quick strike from the boys as Jordan Robertson scored to make it 5-2. Peterborough distanced themselves even further as they scored three goals to make it 8-2. Ryan MacSpadyen scored his first goal of the season and Greg Davidson scored late but the second period ended 10-4 Lakers. Mike Triolo scored to open the third period, but the Lakers came back with three goals to make it 13-5. The boys would add two goals late courtesy of Ryan MacSpadyen’s second goal of the night and Jordan Robertson’s second goal as well. The final scored was 13-7 Peterborough. This game was a tough one for the Beaches as the boys hit five posts and unfortunately could not finish on four breakaways that could have changed the game. The boys will play their second home game of the season tomorrow (May 22) at 8pmĀ against the Brampton Excelsiors.
