The Beaches were home to the Six Nations Arrows last night. The team looked to continue their fantastic play as of late against the league’s second place Arrows. The boys struck first with a goal two minutes into the first period by Allister Warren. But the Arrows came back strong putting up five unanswered goals to end the first 5-1. Like so many games this season, the Beaches were able to rally in the second period to close the gap. Jackson Hulbert, Allister Warren, Carter Cummings, Ryan Fournier, and Jordy Robertson all scored in the second to make it a two goal game going into the third period down 8-6. The third period was much like the second as the Beaches had to play catch up. They were able to stay within two goals of the Arrows for most of the period, until late when the Arrows scores two goals to seal the win for Six Nations 12-9. Arguably their best game of the season, the Beaches proved that they can compete with the best team and can create great games against elite teams. Jordan Robertson and Allister Warren both finished with 7 points and Beaches newcomer, goaltender Kanathason Horn-David was solid in his second game for the beaches, giving the team a chance to win throughout. The Beaches next home game is on Monday, June 11 at 8pm in Ted Reeve Arena versus the Mississauga Tomahawks.
