Last night was a special game at Ted Reeve arena. With a lot of buzz surrounding the Beach Boys first win against Peterborough five days ago, Beaches fans filed into the “Ted” as they looked for their second straight win hosting the St. Catharines Athletics. The Beaches came out slow in the first period as they were outscored 4-3. Chad Levick, Ryan MacSpadyen and Ryan Lee all tallied in the first period as the boys were down by one going into the second. During the intermission, the Beaches Jr. A took the time to honor the Beaches silver medalist U15 Field 1 team. Beaches Jr. A President Ryan Cousins and Frank Ham presented the players with their medals as the arena recognized the great achievement that the team accomplished. After the intermission, the Beaches came out firing on all cylinders. Putting up 7 unanswered goals in the second frame and only allowing 2, the Beach Boys took a commanding 10-6 lead heading into the third period. Jackson Hulbert and Tanner Thomson both scored twice and Jake Cook, Jordan Robertson and Allister Warren each added a goal of their own. The third period was dominated by goaltender Rance Vigneux as he held the Athletics without a goal for entire period. Captain Jordan Robertson scored the only goal in the period to become the third Beaches player to score two goals in the game. The atmosphere at the arena was electric and the team was treated to an arena full of an energetic and loud crowd. The Beaches Boys are on the road for the next two games before getting back to Ted Reeve on Monday, June 17 to take on the Barrie Lakeshores. Follow the boys as they look to continue their success of late.
