The 2014 Beaches Jr. A season is approaching and after yet another season of vast improvement the club is looking to the summer of 2014 to be the exciting culmination of a two year rebuilding process.

All of the hard work put into the club by the volunteers and management has allowed the Jr. A team to improve and bring a competitive spirit back to the Beach. In turn this has shown our Beaches minor players that they have a high level Junior A team to one day play for and has added to the growth of our minor Beaches organization.

Over the past two seasons with Coach Bruce Codd at the helm, the Beaches inched closer to a playoff spot, missing by only three points this past summer. Bruce Codd has moved onto another coaching opportunity and we thank him for all he has done in a short time for the Beaches Jr. A and Beaches lacrosse as a whole. We always believed that Bruce was at the forefront of growth for our club.

Although Coach Codd will be missed, we are extremely excited to announce our new Head Coach and former Assistant Coach, Merrick Thomson. Coach Thomson served alongside Bruce Codd for the past two seasons and has contributed immensely to the growing success of the club. He brings a very competitive spirit and a desire to win and was the obvious choice to fill the vacant head coaching position. The former 2nd overall pick in the 2007 NLL Draft is currently head coach of the U18 Prep lacrosse team at the prestigious Hill Academy.

Finally, we are very happy to have returning as General Manager and Assistant Coach, Scott Crombie. Scott has always been a valuable part of the Beaches Jr. A lacrosse club.
