Last night the Beaches rolled into Burlington looking to complete a significant 4 point weekend and secure 5 points in their last three games. The game was scheduled to be played at 7pm but because of difficulties with the arena the game was underway at 7:30pm.

The team had a sloppy start throughout the first period that may be attributed to the longer than usual wait time as the situation at the arena was being dealt with. Aaron Forster scored two goals on transition in the period but the Beaches trailed 4-2 going into the first intermission.

However, after a lengthy closed door speech from head coach Glenn Clark, the Beach Boys responded in a big way in the second period. Beginning with a goal 35 seconds into the frame by Marcus Minichiello, the team scored 5 unanswered goals. Rookie Bryce Keats scored one with John St. John adding two goals of his own. Recently acquired Jordan Goddard had an impressive period scoring his first goal in his Beaches debut and adding two assists in the period. The team went into the second intermission leading 7-5.

The third period proved to be an exciting 20 minutes of lacrosse as both teams battled it out in a back and forth affair. The Beach Boys traded goals with the Chiefs throughout the period with tallies from Garrett Lewis, Jack Kelly, Tristan Hanna and Cory Burr. Goalie Michael Lalani was solid in the final half of the period as the Beach Boys defense locked down the victory.

Lalani secured his forth win of the season to improve his team to 4-4-1. The Beach Boys are back in action on Wednesday night as they travel to St. Catharines for a rematch against the Athletics. The Beaches next home game is this Friday, June 12 as they host the Peterborough Lakers @ 8pm.
